as I didn't talk to the doctor today (which really gets me angry that they are too busy but I am going to call tomorrow and leave her a message to call me). Ok the doc wants to cancel but they are not used to long stimmers. I want to go a little further but the nurse said not to continue any meds. Now should I continue with 1 menopur (was on 4 - tonight would be day 11 of stims) or should I do NO meds and go in on Saturday for blood and sono. When doc calls me back I want to tell her that I still want to be monitored to see what if anything is going on. So really the question is Meds or No Meds (will 1 menopur even do anything or should I just wait with no meds and see if anything happens on its own) Also I have to find out what my LH was today - can I be having an annvoltary (sp?) cycle with a 7m follie and estrogen of 43? My breast are achy and I am getting cm - does that even make sense?

I might be tempted to save the $$ by just pulling off meds for a few days and see what your body does. If the follie kicks into gear, then you could add menopur back in to help it mature. Maybe go back in Wednesday.......that way you can see if there has been any movement......rather than waiting until the end of the week. Hang in there!

You haven't asked me, but if I read your pp correctly, you started with a 7mm follie and have stimmed for 11 days and not seen any growth at all? I think this is not what you want to hear, but if I were you I would stop the meds. I think at this point you are wasting precious and $$ menopur. Tracy is right, go in Wednesday and if you see any movement you can always pick back up. But I think if you are not seeing any growth in 11 days, you just might not have a viable follie there.

the meds but I think I rather wait to Saturday to go in ( I know me,if I go in too soon and see no change I will get very disappointed and then wonder what would of happened if I waited a couple of more days). I think I agree with fish: if I were you, I'd go in by Friday at the latest, so you'll get results on a weekday and be able to talk with someone. For me, when I was paradoxically over-suppressed by levels of stims that were a bit too high, I'd rebound pretty quickly once I reduced or stopped the stims.

11 days @ 4 units may be a bit too much for your follie to recover from, though. If your insurance will cover just one more IVF, I might monitor, trigger, and BD this time, and persuade your doc to let you try a lower stim protocol next time you get decent baseline numbers. But see what happens when you monitor next.

i had a rough cycle like this the last time i stimmed. i.e. no response. you can use OPKs to see if LH is doing anything but i bet you are safe until friday and then if follie grows you can add stims back in.

remember that your response this cycle does not predict a similar response next cycle. the research shows this.

for blood and sono to see what is going on - we'll see if it can be saved. If not on to next month ( I know I have been at this a LONG time but I did need you to remind me fish_queen that every cycle gets different results - just get so caught up in it all and then comes the depression of it). I will have to be very forceful next cycle to INSIST on only one menopur as they can see from the results of this year (all messed up with them trying to high stim me yhis year- get over it docs - its 6 years later and now high stim is no longer an option for me!!!)
And maybe we should also consider start stimming later in cycle instead of cd 2 or 3. The only good thing (if it is a good thing) is that it doesn't matter for insurance reasons what my fsh is the next 3 months as this months reading covers me for 6 months. So I have to dust myself off - think positive - and see what happens on friday. Thank you so much for the support - I would be pulling my hair out without it!!!!
So I will discuss this all with the doc on friday and also discuss at what number (I believe last tiem it was 20) we would continue with fsh reading. And remind her that I am a long stimmer!
