today you could ask for some pro-biotic powder to add to Babs' food (won't hurt Bonnie either) - it'll replace some of the 'good' gut flora currently being wiped out by the antibiotic. We use Pro-texin. It works in a similar way to yoghurt, but is more likely to reach the gut intact. If you've already been to the vet's, any vet practice will probably let you have it with no presription and without seeing the animal (as it's not a med, as such). I think we pay about £3 for a little sachet which will last a few days.

You can even just mix it in with live yoghurt for a double whammy (BTW, if they don't like natural yoghurt much - mine don't - the vanilla has worked wonders in our house!)
