Hi everybody,
I live in Ukraine and have R-11 TXE produced in 1986. Good car. Can anybody help me with wheels size. I would like to buy new tyres and want to put the biggest possible size. Currently I have 175-65-14 and it seems to me that this bigger size will not fit. Though I know that R-11 turbo has 195-60-15. Does andybody know if it is true and if it is can I put the same weels size in my car.
Thank you in advance.

Well it depends mostly on the rim size. Every rim has two dimensions, extremly important when buying tyres: rim diameter (14 inches in your case) and thickness. Now, the safe tyre size for 5,5' thick rim is 175, for 6' is 195, for 6,5' - 205-215, so you must measure your rims, to know what's the thickest tyre possible to fit.

Actually, the R11 Turbo standard tyre size is 175/65 R 14 on a 5.5" wheel.
There was a small special edition called R11 Turbo Zender that wore 195/50 R 15 tyres (not 60 series), but that was only for 3-door models.
You should be able to fit 185/60 R 14 (or 185/55 R 15) tyres without problems, providing you choose a wheel with an offset (ET) as close to 38 mm as possible. And the rim width should (preferably) be 6.5" max. 6" even more ideal.

you can have 7.5-16 inch tyers 195-45-16 under your 3 doors car if you have a 5 doors car than you can have 7-15 inch 195-50-15
you can also put 7-17 inch 205-40-17
