I have the same problem but i have to live with it cause i cant pay for a new carburator (mine is a dual/double core).
Also, the clutch cables wearing out might be due to the carburator:
I find that to avoid the jerky feeling, I have to engage the clutch a little bit, so I imagine that would wear out clutch bits.
Hope this helps and its no too help
Bye

Not sure of the cause of the stuttering, I had a similar episode two days ago out of the blue ( I have an '89 R11 TXE)
It felt like it was dropping a cylinder, so I checked all the HT leads and spark plugs, all ok. I also put a bottle of Slick 50 Fuel Line Cleaner in the gas tank as I have found this works really well. I have found you need less choke and for shorter periods when starting.
As for clutch cables, I think I had six in the first 5 years! I seem to remember it's due to the gauge of cable used on right-hand drive models. Just got the garage to fit a heavier cable and its been fine ever since. That was 9 years ago, so they must have done something right.

Hi! it is true that I have the same problem, but I did not have it till I went to adjust my carb at a service. The mixture was adjusted to be according to the allowed CO emission limits. For this I suppose that the engine does not get enough gas, this is why it can be explained that pulling the choke a little bit resolves the problem. I am looking for somebody who can resolve my problem and if it is done I will let you know.
