Hope your art survived cherry creek!

Hi Dori and Joe! My husband, Joel, and I enjoyed looking at your landscapes at the cherry creek arts festival -- that's where we spotted your book, and, as two artists in love, determined that we had to read it. Dori, I just loved the book (just so you take my compliment seriously, I want you to know that I have a Ph.D. in creative writing and literature). Joel and I hope to collaborate on a novel someday, and reading about your work together -- and your commitment to the creative life -- has been very inspiring. While reading, I felt as if you stayed with us for a few days, and I was sad to see you go when I reached the end of the book. About cherry creek -- we got caught in the storm, and I'm sure you did, too. Was everything okay? I felt so sorry for the many artists whose work was vulnerable to the deluge. We really liked your paintings and wanted to meet you and ask about a price that wasn't marked, but the woman who was sitting in your place (a very bland agent of the festival) was unable to help us, and we moved on, thinking we'd make it back, not knowing that we'd need a rowboat! Anyway, I wish both of you, Anabelle, Ruby, and all the other unmean characters of the book the best; I so appreciated your wonderful story. Maybe we'll see you in Denver next year?
