Well actually, it arrived on July 28. I just never received a notice. I finally went down to my post office today and asked if it was sitting in their back room. Sure enough, it was. Sheeze!
This watch is simplicity personified. Clean lines; uncluttered, easy to read dial; simple to set. The stem extends and retracts with subtle authority. The fit and finish of the case is exquisite. It just plain looks good. Further inspection with a 10X loupe revealed only one minor flaw: there is some "bleeding" on the top part of the numeral 7 on the dial. Other than that, all the other numerals and indices are spot on. The decorated movement is a site to behold through the loupe.
Besides the aforementioned minor dial flaw, the only other item that didn't quite meet my expectations is the luminosity of the dial; it's not as bright as I hoped. My Citizen and Seiko are much brighter. But that's just after initial exposure to direct sunlight. I haven't yet done a side by side comparison for decay rate.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the Titan. Of course I will check the accuracy in a month or two. (It's gained 2 seconds in 6 hours on my wrist, which works out to +8 seconds per day - not too shabby.) The flaw with the dial is noticeable without a loupe (now that I know it's there). Steven Walker told me they would replace the dial if it bothers me. He told me to take a month to mull it over. (Cost, Steve?)
Here are some pictures. Note it sports the new style dial (no wreath, german spelling of automatic).
