Response to A Few Questions

Firstly, and this is the "dumb" question what does "Limes" mean? Is it just a name? Whose name? Or is it just a made-up brand name with no particular meaning? I could not find an answer on any of the websites.

The 'word' Limes is the term for a type of ancient Roman fortification, some of which is still present in Southern Germany - it is pronounced Leem-ess.

Second, how new is the "Limes" brand name? Is it possible to find a vintage Limes wristwatch? (i.e. from the 60s and before?)

Although we made complete watches for other compnaies before we came out with the Limes brand in the late 1990's, none had the Limes name

Third, can we get a picture of the deployment clasp? Are they made in-house or bought from a supplier?

They are made by a clasp specialist. Very few companies make their own clasps, or buckles. Here is a tiny pic.

and lastly, is the crown on this watch gold plated or solid gold?

Gold plated, but with extra thick plating. A solid gold crown would add at least $200 on to the price of this watch

Thank you for taking the time on this forum to answer our questions.

You're very welcome !
