nice:) we will never know for sure, greek city state or not, he was born into the greek world. thats all we know. all this he was this he was that has to stop. most likely the rulers of maciedonia were greeks, as sugested by the fact that the official language was greek as shown by the coins, and we also know greek city states had popped up allover the place since greece was the main power in the reigion, im sorry to say all otehr balkanians were mere paesants at the time. He could have been for example a mexican runing for governorship of california, well what is he really a mexican or american? if he was mexican he would be runing for governorship of tijuhana? well so that means he loves america and what it stands for. Alexander lived a long time ago to be Greek my friend, Greeks weren't even in the picture and if you are Greek I am fuc'kin sorry to inform you that today's Greeks are Slavic and they just call themselves Greek. Ancient Greeks have nothing to do with todays Greeks and Greece at that time wasn't a State!!! it was more like an Empire. Further more my friend, if Alexander was Greek why he didn't name his Empire Greece, but he named it ALEXANDRIA. If his teacher was Aristotle and if he was Greek (it is not sure what he was), he could have paid him good money to teach him.
