Shenanigans –

At 18:23 of the first period, a battle of the heavyweights erupted. Frank Littlejohn who earlier turned down an invitation from Bob Crowe, decided that he will accept the challenge from Mike Coons. Coons got the worst of the fight and left the game to get stitches for a serious cut on his forehead. Both got five minutes for fighting.

With 34 seconds left in the second period, Frank Littlejohn did not turn down a second invitation from Bob Crowe. Compared to the first bout this was more of a tussle. Both got five minutes for fighting, with an additional 10 minute game misconduct to Littlejohn for the second major penalty in the game.

The battle of the heavyweights continued with 5:30 left in the third, Gary Kane and Steve Smelt both received five minutes for fighting.

Not to be undone with 2:42 left in the third period, the lightweights decided to duke it out. Mike Fryer and Derick Crough both received 5 minutes for fighting
