| A strong night for the Warriors as they easily defeated Burlington 14-5. They were up 4-0 early, driving Paul Dawson from goal(he'd be back). They used their top scorers strictly on offence. Josh Colley shot up a storm early with two goals and a bounce shot off the inside post. Mark Craig was unstoppable all night long. The Chiefs offence was dreadful. Most of the time they struggled to retain possession. The first fifteen minutes they were hopeless and managed only three even strength shots on goal. The opening period ended 6-2. It was 13-3 after two. Burlington actually won the third frame. They scored their first even strength goal on a delayed penalty and added another later with five runners against five.
NOTES
-the Whitby run and gun offence kept things interesting for forty minutes.
-the Warriors use two rookies on their power play(Greer and O'Brien) not five! Which goes to show how misinformation can be used against people. The Whitby whiners on this forum prefer slander to facts - just remember that.
-Below you'll see the back door line changes and how many times the teams went early. It was probably more than I noted. Most frustrating was seeing Burlington called on an offensive change. A minute later Whitby was fast breaking and the Chief left the back door very early but no call. As for Whitby, their defensive players consistently came on the floor early. Normally just one or two steps but too many men is too many men and back door changes should be strictly called. Soon we'll have no offence in the game if the referees don't enforce the rules(none of them really do when it comes to back door changes).
