Shenanigans -
At 8:00 of the third period, Gord Lillie and Ian Harloff decided to exchange pleasantries and received 5 mins each for fighting. While heading to the penalty box, Rick Freeman and Kevin Taylor removed their helmets and gloves and had a staring match. The refs arrived in time and nothing transpired. Freeman got a double minor for roughing and Taylor a single minor for roughing. From my perspective the only roughness occurred to their equipment as it was hurled to the concrete floor. Would Freeman and Taylor renew acquaintances later on? You can bet on it. At 13:58 of the third period, Freeman and Taylor decided that they will have another go. Again, helmets and gloves were hurled to the floor and the staring started. MacArthur and King arrived before any punches were thrown and both players were escorted to the dressing rooms. No further abuse to equipment penalties were given. This time it was a double minor for unsportsmanlike conduct and game misconduct to Taylor and a minor to Freeman for unsportsmanlike conduct and a gane misconduct. Total penalty minutes for each for the game was a balanced 16 minutes.
