Shenanigans –
At 6:33 of the second period., Tyler Harris of Ennismore checked Niall Maynard of Brooklin from behind and a bit of scuffle ensued as Maynard tried to get up. Maynard collapsed to the floor in obvious pain. Calls were Harris 2 mins for checking from behind and 5 min for attempted butt end.
At 7:04 of the second period, Wes Wade of Ennismore objected strenuously on what he perceived to be a check from behind. Comments on the origin of the referee’s parentage earned him a 10-min misconduct.
At 14:49 of the second period, Frank Littlejohn and Joe Teatro collided at mid floor, much to Littlejohn’s chagrin. One punch by Littlejohn to Teatro’s face sent him to the floor. Littlejohn received 5 mins for roughing.
Notes:
A tradition of Brooklin and Peterborough/Ennismore rivalry continued with lots of talking back and forth and many scrums after the whistle.
Both MacPherson and Cafagna exhibited constraint by only calling 2 bench minors one on each team. At times it seemed that the teams deserved more.
An expected battle of the heavyweights between Tim Burke and Frank Littlejohn did not materialize as Burke was sitting a game suspension.
