Shenanigans –

At 18:43 of the first period, Kevin Beauvais came out of his net to try and prevent a hard charging Mike Bradley from getting a loose ball. A major collision occurred between Beauvais and Bradley with Beauvais getting the worst. The play was close to the boards and Beauvais fell heavily into the boards. It could have turned into a bench clearing brawl but quick work by Ravary and McGrath kept the situation under control. Mike Bradley was assessed 5 mins for boarding and a game misconduct. Beauvais was replaced by Jake Henhawk for the remainder of the first period and all of the second period.

At 4:43 of the third period, it looked like the same situation was about to occur when Beauvais again left the crease to try and corral a loose ball. Ryan Harris and Beauvais had a minor collision and J.J. Dickie came to Beauvais’s aid. During this distraction, an alert John Young, a call up from the Gaels, pounced on the loose ball and scored into an empty net. Only call was a holding penalty to Dickie which was erased by the goal.

After Brooklin’s fourth goal at 15:17 of the first period, Lindsay Plunkett was assessed a 5 min major for high sticking. Then at 10:07 of the third period, Plunkett chased down Matt Parro and prevented Parro from taking a shot by coming up high with his stick. Plunkett received a second 5 min major for high sticking plus a game misconduct for the second major.

Notes:

Full marks to Brooklin for the win. They came out for each period full of energy and hustle and maintained the effort for a full 60 minutes. They were able to get Owen Sound off their game.

If Brooklin can play like this on Thursday, it will be a barnburner.

At 4:51 of the third period, Ryan Harris slipped on the floor in about the same spot where he collided with Beauvais, eight seconds earlier. This time it appeared that Harris suffered a left knee injury and he was helped off the floor.

Scott Luckhardt of Owen Sound sat out his one game suspension.

Troy Bonterre was not dressed for Owen Sound.
