Shenanigans –
At 3:22 Jon Durno and Rayce Vyse had a disagreement about the late start of the game. Durno landed more punches until wrestled to the floor by Vyse. Vyse was heard to say that he was tired from the long bus ride and he could have done better against Durno. Both received 5-min fighting majors.
Notes:
The Chiefs arrived 10 minutes before game time because of traffic jams on the way. However, they were able to have a full warm up as the referees were delayed. Jeremy Morrison was filling in for a sick Gary Martin at the last minute. The second assigned referee did not show up. Dan Floyd was pulled away from reffing a Women’s Master League game to do this game.
Brooklin appeared disoriented. Made bad passes. Could not hold on to the ball. Ken Montour came up big when needed to stop the Brooklin shooters. Both Nash and McNaughton struggled in net.
Jeff Zywicki hustled throughout the game and could have had a couple of more goals if not for Montour. Steve Toll after his suspension reprieve showed a lot of heart trying to rally the troops. He did show his frustrations by the team’s lack of success.
Six Nations were able to kill a 3 on 5 situation starting at the 8:00 mark of the second period. Superb ball handling and passing kept the ball out of Brooklin’s hands.
Slow starts in each of the three periods hurt Brooklin’s chances.
Thanks to Trina for verifying the stats.
