Response to Major Scoring Summary: Game 4 - Peterborough 12 at Brampton 16 (OT) |
| I watched last nights game and the Lakers by far had the more talented lineup. But as we all know talent doesn't mean much ifthe other team plays a better game. I have to agree with Thistlesforever that the Lakers netminders hurt them. But Coaching decisions were the obvious deficiency for the Lakers. Other than move Jr to the shooter spot (I think Kelusky called that one) Peterborough did not adjust. Brampton continually made adjustments until it was all said and done.
Mike Murray had Collins number, but the borough never pressured him when he had the ball. If anyone has had the pleasure to watch Mike rip corner after corner uncontested in practice, then you would understand why he was so effective last night.
Derek Graham gave away the ball possession after possession in overtime. Scott Rodgers continually gave the ball up after face offs. Yet the coach never addressed this. They just kept going out there.
The Peterborough power play while fairly effective, could have been better. Take Graham off and put Evans out there. That kid is a player.
One last note, how cheap is John Veltman? The game is over 20 seconds left and the ball bouncing in the borough end after a shot (all players still down in front of Watson and Veltman drills Evans from behind. Disgusting, but even more disgusting is the fact that 4 laker players did nothing. Evans had to get up off the floor and go after Veltman himself. That was the only black spot on an otherwise Great Excelsior win | |
