HM dual 4 intake question

A buddy has a Holman & Moody dual 4 intake that has never had either the throttle linkage bosses or the water temp boss tapped. Does that have any significance to anyone. He got it complete with C5 part numbered carbs, the BC and BD versions (710cfm I believe) and they are date coded Sept/Oct of 65. Thanks in advance for any response.

I believe it was a marine application. Mine is the same.

I also have one of those, got it about the same way,
with some BC/BD carbs. Direct from my contact
in S.C., my pipeline to old racing items.

No boss for the heater hose.

I called Lee Holman yesterday, the intake could either be
a marine intake, or a racing piece for NASCAR etc. The
marine intakes had the H&M painted in their red and black
colors, i.e. their logo.

Assuming your manifold is for either a MR or LR, there was never a use for it in NASCAR competition. NASCAR allowed Fomoco teams to use 8V induction from 1967 through 1968 in Grand National competition. Fomoco teams were using Tunnel Ports at that time.
