I run one in my S code 69 Mach 1. I also have an electric fan set up that came from Northern that includes two dual 11" SPAL electric fans with a nice alluminum shroud. I had a Flexalite fan before. The mechanical fan cannot compete. The electric set up outperforms the mechanical in my opinion. So far no problems, and with the current combo, no cooling issues. I have even driven it in 40 min of hot stop and go traffic from Los Angeles. I was surprised, never got on the "H" side. Later.
..... I have a Howe cool and am not satisfied .... been thinking about a Griffen my self .... 63/64 fairlane with FE and never runs cool as I would like with 4.56 gear
the stock radiator that looked like it went through a war! couldnt even put ur head underneath after a run through town, now its only luke warm and ya can touch the radiator even.

If you are directing the question to me, well I really didn't have anything before. I got the vehicle with no driveline, nothing just a semi interior and a badly needed (still needed) paint job. So when it came time to buy a new one, I did some research and went with Griffen. I later found out through a radiator shop, that there are two companies that make good ones, not just Griffen, but also Northern. They both have set ups for FE's and different cars, also I think Northern might even make custom set ups, just pricey. If you ride is overheating, even with going to a lower temp thermostat, I would suggest the conversion. Both electric fan and alluminum radiator especially if it's a daily driver, HP, or cruiser set up. By the way, my Griffy looks like an NOS alluminum replacement, if there was ever one to be born. I heard the Northern might require a saddle bracket mod. Late.
I have a Griffin and have been using it for years, very happy. I'm wondering though, since the lower outlet is at a different angle than stock, what are you using for the lower hose? I have to fab up a custom hose to make mine work. It's no big deal, but it would be nice to have a single hose, available from the auto parts store.

Ours is a stock OEM replacement from AutoKrafters. the rad we have is for a galaxie but its dam near the same thing so we used it. the top hose is a little off because the radiator is a little taller but it works fine.
