I noticed at the recent game in Cobh, how much we are missing out on a good atmosphere at our home games. We have the best attendances in the 1st division, and probably the worst atmosphere. What a tidy little set up they have in Cobh, and despite the dreadful surface, dreadful fans, and the misfortune of signing Donal Golden, if they were getting 1000 people in there every weekend, I certainly wouldnt relish the prospect of going there needing points. What a slip up by the club not to have bought Kilcohan 20 or 30 years ago. What do the supporters think? Are we sacrificing too much just to have a ground with a real tunnel and a 'corporate lounge'?!! My suggestion would be to develop Ozier Park, one of the finest surfaces this side of the Missisippi. Throw in a bit of concrete at the far end, theres your terraces, lengthen the stand, put in 200 seats and you have a ground worthy of the Eircoms finest. I know that makes it sound easier than it is, we all know the club are in dire need of hard currency, but is it worth looking at these things? I'm sick of hardly being able to see the numbers on the backs of the boys in blue.
