Let me state I personally do not believe in the death penalty.

I am happy New Jersey has taken this step forward in humanity.

Great care and consideration must be given when administering a death penalty....and I do believe it is warranted...in those cases where the convicted clearly displayed acts of inhumanity. So I find NJ's action clearly ignorant on various counts.

It's not about deterrence or mercy.

Abolishing the death penalty is akin to your body deciding not to fight off infectious disease. Your body sends out special killer agents when you become infected. If it didn't you would soon die from the infection and many still do die due to attack from unchecked disease.

The death penalty, for all it's faults, removes incompatible elements from society in a very similar manner to the body's own defenses.

Let's hope you or yours never have to face the attack of those for whom the death penalty is meant to remove.

While mercy is noble, failing to keep society healthy through prevention is unwise.

While I was born and raised in NJ, there are a few things I do not like about the state r/

#1 - their ignorance for the citizen's 2nd amendment rights

#2 - the politicians are all corrupt

#3 - the abolition of the death penalty. As far as I am concerned, it is warranted in some cases.

I agree with the death penalty in theory...

But I don't in reality. If there's even a small chance the convicted is innocent, the whole system fails. I strongly recomend wathing "The Life Of David Gail" to understand my point.
