Fed up with petty partisanship? So am I and that's why I'm voting for John McCain ...

Now, more than ever, we need a president who will work on behalf of America ... and not just govern solely from the right or left.

I really appreciated John McCain's speech about his vision for his first term, and I'd like to quote just a small part of it:

(Bold section mine)

"We cannot again leave our problems for another unluckier generation of Americans to fix after they have become even harder to solve. I'm not interested in partisanship that serves no other purpose than to gain a temporary advantage over our opponents. This mindless, paralyzing rancor must come to an end. We belong to different parties, not different countries. We are rivals for the same power. But we are also compatriots. We are fellow Americans, and that shared distinction means more to me than any other association. I intend to prove myself worthy of the office; of our country; and of your respect. I won't judge myself by how many elections I've won. I won't spend one hour of my presidency worrying more about my re-election than keeping my promises to the American people. There is a time to campaign, and a time to govern. If I'm elected president, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin. I promise you, from the day I am sworn into office until the last hour of my presidency, I will work with anyone, of either party, to make this country safe, prosperous and proud. And I won't care who gets the credit."

Friends, if you are fed up with the partisanship we've seen in Washington for so many years, John McCain is your man for President. He is the only candidate among himself, Clinton and Obama, who has a proven record of being non-partisan. He will be a president we can be proud of!

Just my two cents.

I have not completely come to a decision about this election, but I am just about there. The Democrats are showing exactly what is wrong with current American politics. I've like Obama for a while now, but I believe that he may be too liberal on certain issues for me.

McCain '08!!! (probably )

In this lies the genius of the American idea of free speech." -- Columbia University President L.C. Bollinger

I wonder who he'll choose as his running mate.

That'll help me make a decision.
McCain needs to shore up the conservative base of the republican party if he's going to keep Obama from a landslide victory.

Economically right leaning candidates with tons of common sense and a rational thinker, that isn't molded and manipulated by special interest money. The VP would need to besomebody tenured in politics & with a reviewable record. Mitt Romney would please me as a VP but I can't see McCain's ego allowing for somebody that would outshine him. He's probably going to select a milquetoast governor so he'll remain the shining star in the media (second to Obama, of course), right before he fizzles to ash in November.
