church community context

I can't figure out what to type. I usually think of the church in terms of a social organization rather than the body of Christ. But if people are all taking communion together, there's a spiritual dimension to church, it can't just be social anymore. What do you think of the church community context and relationships among church members functioning as the body of Christ? For example, it may be possible for the church to confirm that one of its members is good at something the member hates to do for a community reason?
