I live in Australia. Proceeding the tragedy of September 11 my cousin who is computer illiterate wanted to send condolence messages to some of the victims' families directly and personally to their addresses as a symbolic gesture of caring and love.She asked for my assistance in order to search for these addresses.I accidentally stumbled on the United States Social Security Death Index. This Index I presumed would identify the victims' addresses.I searched for 60 victims' names....none were depicted as being deceased.I added another 40 names, with similiar results.This SS Death Index...which is easily accessable is used to trace ancestry. But of course has other uses.Recently, (2 weeks ago) I updated the 100 victims' names search, as I perhaps assumed that it was too soon after the tragedy and the list was not updated (I believe it is updated every 6 months). Anyway this latest search for the same victims names 2 weeks ago and nearly 12 months proceeding the September 11 tragedy.......yielded similiar results. None were depicted as being deceased.I posted a contribution on an American forum where a debate was commenced. One contributor suggested to do a similiar search on the TWA800 victims. I concurred and initially made a search for a list of the victims.I accessed this list and made a printout.Two days ago, I made a search on the SS Death Index. The first 10 people...yielded nil results.It appears that the TWA800 victims and the September 11 victims (which by the way only included victims which were passengers on the planes that hit the towers, the Pentagon, and which crashed in the field) have some common denominators as follows:
1) None are being depicted as being deceased by the US Government...at least on its SS Death Index
2) All were passengers on ill-fated American aircraft
3) All were American citizens
What is required now, is to tie in the common thread of the aircraft which were three....American Airlines....United...and Trans World Airlines
It could be one of two things:
1) You are erroniously depending on the timeliness and diligence of government employees to do their job
2) You are actually one of the many disinformationalists in the intelligence agencies that spend their time and our tax dollars polluting the well (and the web) with bogus issues, lies, and misdirection.
The recent claims of no pentagon plane are a good example of this absurd exercise. Chemtrails are another. (It may have worked in Ecuador but americans are getting more and more savy).
Personally, I think all disinformationalists should be publically flogged, their damage to our political system is incalcualable.

I am not of the descriptions you have stated Dan. I only base my analyses on the facts.....and the facts are that no government bureaucracy in the world....lest in the United States would be so incompetent as to omit ALL the checked victims' names from the Social Security Death Index. I would accept as credible the incompetency theory should say ONLY 10% to 50% of the victims' names (which were checked) were listed!!!But I shall never accept as credible this argument when ALL the victims' names are missing.
Madeliene...or anonymous??? What is going on? Is this a state secret is it? I mean if these names are listed they are public knowledge are'nt they? So who are these victims...including their names!! And why are you so secretive Madeliene? The USA, I believe, at least to the present, remains an open society does'nt it?

I take exception to your insinuations. I live in NYC. Over 100 are dead from my neighborhood alone from 9/11. Four firefighters from our block were there that day as well as my husband, a neighbor who is a nurse, and three high school students who attend Stuyvesant HS. Thank God, all from our block came home, many, many others did not.
We here in Brooklyn lived under a cloud of acrid black smoke for a month after the attacks. We lived with fighter jets in our skies and up to 90 bomb alerts a day. In the midst of this, we attended memorial after memorial for our dead.
Are you asking me if it happened, yes, it did happen. God help us, it did happen and don't for a minute believe that we will ever forget it.

As to the Death Index inself: It is not updated automatically. Papers need to be filed. One must alert the government to the death. Many 9/11 families did not immediately ask for death certificates, I am sure even you can understand why. You see, they were waiting for something-- anything. An aquaintance of mine finally received something, her husband's left arm. That was all and it took months to get that.
