Do not exclude the possibility that the sailors were merely TOLD the missiles were supposed to fall short, when in fact they were intended to intercept. That's not something you would tell a bunch of sailors.

Do you have the names of any of those sailors? I don't want you to print them here. I'm just curious. Those names might be of interest to Bob.

Does that mean you have the names of 3 but haven't check their stories, or you don't have any names?

sailor whistleblowers

October 11 2000, 11:45 AM

I am trying to get info about AIM's sailor info. All of the rumors I am familiar with are by "No FOBs." I must assume AIM's alleged sailor inputs are no different. I can't imagine any sailor being stupid enough to go public openly. We'd lose the info and the sailor!

The only two names I am certain about are mine and yours, No FOB. Your questions are counterproductive, aren't they?

We need standalone insider info not traceable to anyone to have a shot at finding out what happened. You're just scaring off potential whistleblowers. The fact that some feel the need to post anonymously from fear of their government to even discuss the tragedy does not give insiders a warm fuzzy feeling about coming forward, IMO.

It would make insiders feel better, I feel, if those of us who want to support them but obviously don't know what happened at least weren't afraid to use our own names. I'm interested in info, not personalities, so it doesn't bother me. If I were an insider I'd be scared to death that even people are afraid to discuss the cause of the tragedy openly. I thought you might be an investigator with specific knowledge. Obviously, that was the wrong impression. I'm not trying to scare any whistleblowers away. That's why I asked you NOT to post their names here. I just wanted to know if you had them. The government is more than capable of scaring people away. I'm not trying to help it do so. But sooner or later, someone has to learn their names if they are going to be of any use to this or any other investigation.
