Similar impact to when I first saw 'Alien' - truly fresh and terrifying.
Didn't need any 'sea-legs' or anything - there were warning notices at the ticket booths about shaky-cam and vertigo and all that, but if you can grit your teeth through the first half an hour of that, then you're rivetted.
Or maybe not, if you're not into monster flicks.
lol! I half expected it to be a big joke after all the hype - it would've been just as good to see everybody's face. Orville the duck peeking out from behind the Chrysler Building.

Ive only just got around to watching this. I got the DVD out. It was probably the best monster movie i've seen. My god it just gets you sucked into like you are there.
I like the way it ends. I won't say of course there may be others here who still havent seen it.
I will never watch this film again, It scared the bloody life out of me, what with my partners fear of rats and my fear of arachnids, most of the film was seen with our hands over our eyes.

<<I liked it, however, I think they show too much of the monster. Just like Signs, the BEST Sci-Fi movie until they show the cheesy aliens.>> I found this with the Stephen King movie It. it was good until they showed "it"
