Anyone wanna take a stab at the NCAA BCS championship this year? The Buckeyes got a lot of starters returning, a lot. If they can take USC, they will go. I say the winner of that game will go on to play Georgia in the BCS game.
Buckeyes 2008-09 National Champs?

"Big Ten Champs - OSU
SEC - Auburn (Could be UGA as well easily)
Big 12 - Oklahoma (though Texas Tech is a HUGE sleeper this year)
Big East - WVU
ACC - Clemson (Wake Forest also has some talent this year)
Pac 1 - USC"
Before I start--was your "Pac 1" a mistype--or was it done on purpose!?!???! LMAO.
Anyways, here's mine:
Big 10 = OSU
SEC = Georgia
Big 12 = Texas
Big East = Rutgers or UC
ACC = Va Tech
PAC 10 = I'll go with USC, however, I'll say that teams like ASU and Oregon give USC a run for their money. Also, will USC lose in LA to UCLA!?!??!?! I'm still not sold on Sanchez.
For the BCS National Championship Bowl Game, I'll go with an OSU vs. USC rematch.

Big 10 OSU
SEC Florida
Big 12 Oklahoma
Big East WVU
ACC Florida State
Pac 10 USC
Unfortunatly, I don't see any way Ohio State can beat USC this year in the 3rd regular season game. Maybe they can loose one early and sneak through the back door to the NC like they did last year.
As far as the championship game goes, I will assume the USC is and will be the #1 ranked team in the country. Hopefully, they will play someone that can compete for a change. I get tired of them being matched up against half witted teams like Illinios last year. I just thank God OSU did not face them last year in the Rose Bowl last year. They would have beaten us worse than LSU beat up on us last year. Honestly, I would kind of like to see Florida and USC beat up on each other for the NC because I hate both teams with a passion!!!

OSU is loaded both on O and D. USC has the problem of replacing thier QB..although Sanchez will not be that bad..I dont think he will faill in line of the Lienarts and Palmers. The game is on the road and USC is always stocked of talent - but this should be a dominate year for the bucks. The bucks have to improve thier special teams play of punt and KO returns, which i think they will. I think they ranked near the bottom last year.
OSU was not supposed to be the big 10 champ last year. Barring injury - they will be tough.

USC Trojans coach Pete Carroll: "Mark Sanchez has shown he has the ability to be a really big-time quarterback in our system. Mark Sanchez has the strongest arm we've had since Carson Palmer."

What else is Carroll going to say about his starting QB!?!!??!?!? That "this guy sucks--I don't have much confidence in him at all--he's a bonehead". Of course you're going to have positive things to say about this guy. Sort of like Tressell with Boeckman:
"Smart Kid. Makes good decisions on the field and off. Smart kid."
Yeah right. You saw Boeckman in the National Championship Game last year. He looked terrible against a great defense. You can look great against the Indiana's and Northwestern's of the collegiate world--but against LSU, that's a whole 'nother story. I'm just hoping that one year IS going to make a difference with Boeckman, however, I simply see Boeckman as a middleman with Beanie Wells.
USC, when guaging someone's talent, always listen to someone on the outside of a program that knows a little about the program. That usually means someone outside of LA or even someone outside the PUNK-10. JMO.

A couple names to remember for OSU this year
1. Lawrence Wilson - he was hurt all last year. He is the DE to replace Gholston and he is a stud.
2. OSU has 6-7 LB's that could start for any team in the nation right now. Laurinitis, Freeman, Homan, Terry, Spitler, Moeller, and the new Freshman Etienne Sabino are freaking studs. .
On passing downs, Tressel will also use Thaddeus Gibson coming off the edge. Gibson was the first player drafted for the Spring Game by the Senior Captains. He is going to be fun to watch. Shaun Lane is also a lighning fast kid that may rush on the edge with Gibson on blitz packages on 3rd downs
The Bucks secondary will be able to shut down USC's receivers. Malcolm Jenkins is the best shutdown corner in the country this year. Washington, Chekwa, Amos, Coleman and Russell are all veterans and who have incredible speed. Coleman will make some incredible plays this year - smart, smart player.
The one position the Bucks need improvement on is Defensive Tackle. The good news is we have all the guys back from lasdt year. Abdallah, Ironhead, Dexter Larimore, and the other two will have another year of experience. Most of those guys were either Fresman or Sophmores last year. As long as we get any push up the middle from them, the defense will be one for the ages (maybe the best ever). I cant wait to see what they do to teams rushing attacks. They have speed and size at EVERY POSITION.
On offense, its Beanie, more Beanie and even more Beanie. Back up RB's are Brandon Pain and Daniel "Boom" Herron. Maurice Wells is also there for 3rd downs and catching out of the backfield.
New receivers that should help are Devier Posey, Devon Torrence, Lamaar Thomas and Jake Stoneburner (love his name). They will provide needed depth behind Terry Robiskie, Brian Hartline, Ray Small, Dane Sanzencbacher and Taurian Washington (this kid can absolutely fly down the field). A walk on receiver that has really turned some heads is Dan Potokar. I always root for a walk-on.
Lastly, OSU's offensive line this year AVERAGES 6 feet 6 inches tall and 330 lbs. They will be the biggest most powerful in the country this year.
That is not a misprint. That is a real college O-line. LOL

I get what you're saying oldschooler. Pete Carrol was mentioning something specific about his game and comparing him to one of the all time SC greats.. not just saying he's a great kid blah, blah blah...which he is not apparently...accused of forcing himself upon a coed a couple years back. Then again, anyone of us could be accused of anything. DA did not press charges. Reading about Sanchez he grew up in a very nice area of Orange County. Daddy is a Fire Chief. The kid has been detained a few times by campus police. Looks like another playboy party animal in the footsteps of Leinart. Careers are short in Hollywood.
bronco, that line is massive. Thanks for the scouting report. I'll be sure to show it to my SC buddies at my annual 4th of July weekend bbq up in Mammoth, CA. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up in LA if the weather is 100+ degrees F
What's Virginia's outlook this year? Anyone? Buehler?

I almost feel sorry for Big 10 foes. ALMOST--but not quite. No wonder why ND doesn't want to join the conference. LMAO.
If Tressel & Company puts the ball up any more than 20 times in a game this year, I'm going to be shocked. Bronco's right--it's going to be Beanie, and more Beanie, then more Beanie this year.
How does Beanie Wells for Heisman sound for you guys (baring injury)?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?
