We travelled for one week in Laos - to Vientiene and Luang Prabang. Would highly recommend if you have the time. We heard the government now allows treks from Luang Prabang and would go back to do one. Any info on that would be appreciated. Will be glad to share any info I can.

Hi!

I went to Asia in April to visit Thailand and Indonesia. And it was great! I`m going back to Thailand in December, but only for one week. Then I`m going to Laos for about one month.
You needed info about Thailand..well, it really depends on what you are searching for. I really loved the island koh Tao. I stayed there for 3 weeks. It`s a very small island. And the main activities there are diving and snorkeling. It`s a chill out place. There`s nothing else to do there actually. So, if you are in to diving this is paradise!!
If you want to do rock climbing you should try out Krabi! And trekking? Go to Chang Mai and places nearby. Phi phi island are beautiful, but too many tourists go there... Phuket and Pattaya - don't go there! Say no more.
Enjoy your trip!

Love Nina

Hello,
We plan to spend 1 week in Laos as well. Any recommendations? My plan now is to go to Vientiane and Luang Prabang only and take it easy, rent a bicycle and so on. How easy is it to arrange transport between these cities and around town? Did you make a domestic flight, or is it more convenient to arrange a car (and driver)? We don't plan to go low-budget, so no overnight buses ans dorms.
Thanks!
Brigit.

Did you make you trip to Luang Prabang yet?
I have a few ideas, on a budget or not!

I've been there three times believe me you have to work hard to spend money in Luang Prabang but you can.

Here is a few tips:

Tum tum chang ghest house is one of the best gesthouse in LP. (Air and hot water)
Don't forget to go to l'Etranger "book store/tea room"
Hive Bar as well. If you want to have fun.
L'Elephant, best French restaurant in town.$$$

Have a nice trip!!!
