Today I again was thinking

Of Mothers I’m thankful for

There’s our Mother In Heaven

I wish I could remember Her more

My Mom has always shown me

Unconditional, everlasting love

She always taught me what is best

With guidance from above

Then my thanks did change

For I have more than two

There’s your dear Mother, Vicki

But I’m ‘specially thankful for you

See, of all the relationships I’ve had

You are like no other

None other carries the mantle

Of our children’s Mother

God knew I needed someone

With the qualities you possess

To nurture our sweet children

Their lives to surely bless

You carried them in your soul

For nine months I’ll never know

And suffered through their birthing

Your mothering grandeur showed

Since then you’ve been their rock

I am sand one might say

When the waves crash on the beach

The sand is swept away

But not the mighty rock

You stand the test of time

You show me a higher plateau

Of parenting that I might climb

Of any lady that might have been

A Mother of these two

I’m thankful God saw to it

To ensure that Mother was you
