99 cent fiber optic sight mod

by

A friend has trouble seeing the sights on his 2240, So thought I would fix that.
The golf ball markers were purchased at K-Mart, for you guessed it 99 cents.

Pic of tools and parts for this mod, Better have good eyes and a steady
hand for this one!

1- Cut off the stem end of the ball marker (sticks in the ground). Be careful it doesn't shoot off into unknown territory when you clip it with the cutters.

2- Remove your rear sight blade. Drill a small pilot hole on each side of the sighting groove. You must get these hole aligned level and even side to side they do not have to be the right size yet.

3- Now check to see what size the hole needs to be to insert the stem you cut from the golf ball place holder. Drill or file out to the desired size.

4- Push the new sight pins into the holes tight. You could glue them but I did not, maybe later....

If you want this on a 2240 with the fiber optic sight on the front, dremel and/or file out the groove on the inside edges, to get the proper sight picture.

Good luck on this one it's not easy but if you screw it up you can clip off the upper part of the sight and start over. Yes, you will have to make a new sighting slot.
